BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONER COMMENDS HRCSL

The British High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Simon Mustard has on Wednesday January 5th, 2020 commended the work of the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL). This commendation came about during a visit by Commissioners of HRCSL to the British High Commmission as part of their strategic engagement with partners. The Chairperson of HRCSL, Patricia Narsu Ndanema explained about HRCSL's ten strategic priorities to the British High Commissioner for areas where there would be need for collaboration. There were discussions on the strategic goals of the HRCSL and the UK’s human rights interest on the abolition of the death penalty, gender issues on sexual violence, FGM, exclusion of girls from schools, freedom of speech and the administration of justice. The British High Commission in 2015/16 supported the Human Rights Commission to undertake the dissemination of its Annual State of Human Rights Report for that year in Kambia.
