According to the Vice-Chairman Victor I. Lansana, the decision to form a partnership with Civil Society Organisations is statutory in the Commission's Act of 2004 citing Section 7 (2) (b) “Effective cooperation with non-governmental organizations and other public - interest bodies engaged in the field of human rights.”
